Well we weren’t in New Mexico very long so we stopped at a rest area near Capulin Mountain, NM and grabbed a few rocks. The only thing notable at the rest area was the “Watch for Snakes” sign.

A quick update…

About 50 yards past the rest area, we started to get into some volcanic rock. Lisa insisted I get some of those too. Adam stopped next to a small hill, and I valiantly jumped out to get a rock. Well all of the small ones were gone, so I started climbing. I finally found one sufficiently sized and having enough character to rest forever in Lisa’s Alaskan rock garden. On the way down from the hill I slipped; I thought this trip would finally end, but no such luck, the 400 mph wind held me in place until I was able to get my footing.
